Places to See
Great Orme Tramway
Further up Church Walks you will find the Great Orme Tramway. Opened in 1902, it is the only cable hauled tramway still operating in the UK. This will take you up to the summit of the Great Orme and if you look back you will see a stunning view over Llandudno and the surrounding area.
Great Orme Cable Car
Another way to reach the summit of the Great Orme is by Cable Car. You can board the cable car in Happy Valley Gardens, just at the bottom of Church Walks. The Cable Car normally runs between April and October.
Llandudno Pier
Llandudno Pier has been open to the public since 1878 and is open all year. It is a grade 2 listed building and is the longest pier in Wales, stretching out close to half a mile into the sea. The pier boasts many different attractions including shops, fairground rides, ice cream kiosks, cafes and bars.
Marine Drive
The Marine Drive is a 4 mile scenic drive around the base of the Great Orme. It is a toll road and there is a small charge (about £2.50) to take your car around. On your way round there are spectacular views to see around every corner. To enjoy the views even more why not walk around, it’s a beautiful walk at any time of the year and it’s free!!
